Hello Ladies and Gentlemen! Welcome to Tapigami.com, your one-stop-shop for all things Tapigami. Here you will find the resources you will need to become a part of our California-based art movement including:
- A calendar of our upcoming events
- Photo galleries from our various installations, photo shoots, shows and public appearances
- Access to our online shop full of our handmade designs
- The ability to reach out to Danny and Tre
- A constantly-updated blog chronicling the exciting opportunities, challenges, and successes of our creative start-up!
As our first official post on the blog, I would like to point towards two upcoming events that are going to be pretty big deals for us.
The first will be Reason to Party Sacramento’s Spring Gala. For those of you who aren’t familiar Reason to Party is an organization that strives to connect young (or young-at-heart) professionals with local non-profits. It does this by organizing over-the-top fabulous events where ticket prices are reasonable and all of the profits go to a local charity. To see just how amazing these events are I can point you toward our installation at the Reason to Party San Francisco Winter Gala, and the Reason to Party website.
Sacramento’s Spring Gala promises to be the most amazing event yet located at the beautiful Old Sugar Mill nestled in Clarksburg’s wine country on the levee. The event will feature open bars, fire-dancers, aerialists, wine-tasting, delicious hors d’oeuvres, and a fantastic new installation from Tapigami. It will even include round-trip limousine transportation for $4 from midtown’s Centro Cocina Mexicana! Tickets are $50, or $20 if you’re altruistic enough to be a designated driver! We hope to see many of you there.
The next event we’d like to share with you is one that we were just accepted into and its one of the biggest art events of the summer:
The Maker Faire Bay Area 2012!
Billed as the “Greatest Show and Tell on Earth”, the Maker Faire attracts over 40,000 visitors per day in San Mateo, and will be featuring the most epic of Tapigami installations. Come support Tapigami and the hundreds of other artists, demonstrators, inventors, and innovators the weekend of May 19th! Tickets range from $12 for single-day student ticket to $40 for an adult weekend-pass so it’s pretty reasonable. More information will be coming your way as we get closer to the weekend, but we wanted our fans to be the first to know so they can start planning ahead!
Danny and I are super excited to begin this journey together with you all. Danny has been working on Tapigami for seven years, and even though I’ve just come aboard I’m so grateful and excited to be his partner in crime (figuratively of course), and I hope you guys enjoy coming along for the ride!!
Last but not least I would like to extend a heart-felt thank you to a few people who made this portal into the world of Tapigami possible. The first is Katelyn Schirmer, our website designer extraordinaire! Her tireless patience and ingenuity are what made this website what it is today! Please let me know if you are a fan of her work and I’ll pass along her information, she was an absolute joy to work with.
Our second hero is Tim Williamson, a Bay Area photographer and man-about-town whose generosity allowed us to have some of the highest-quality images imaginable for our site. His portfolio can be found here, so please peruse his amazing work and book him for your next event, you will not be disappointed!
Last but never least is Mac Clemmens, who heard what we were trying to do and immediately snapped up the domain name and whose company Digital Deployment has been hosting us. He’s recently embarked upon an exciting tech start-up called Artify It, launching in Spring 2012, that we are looking forward to working with so he’s a renaissance man and a true friend.
And with that I think we’re ready. Thanks everyone and we hope to see a lot of you!
Your intrepid artrepreneurs,
Tre Borden & Danny Scheible
